Chicago Extruded Metals—CXM

Chicago Extruded Metals (CXM) is a fully integrated brass mill based in the U.S., specializing in the production of standard and engineered brass and bronze alloys in extruded rod, bar, and profiles. We offer a wide range of alloys, including low lead brass, leaded brass, naval brass, aluminum bronze, and silicon bronze. CXM is the sole domestic producer of nickel silver alloys, a highly durable metal commonly used to manufacture elevator sills—the grooved floor plates over which elevator doors slide at each entrance. Thanks to our advanced engineering capabilities and extensive metallurgical expertise, we are uniquely equipped to optimize these alloys to meet diverse customer specifications.

Our products have been manufactured in the Chicago area since 1922, using 80% recycled materials. For over a century, CXM has been taking brass scrap and turning it into something new. What was once considered waste was transformed into high-quality metal, ready to be used again in the creation of valves, fixtures, machinery parts and more.
